Independent Living Preparation Program
Independent Livings Skills are addressed at New Hope. This program prepares the girls to enter into an independent living setting. The girls participate in group sessions based on independent living skills. The topics include but are not limited to: anger management, goal setting, health awareness such as nutrition, money management, problem solving, and support systems, independent living/transition skills, relationships, and sexual health including information on AIDS, pregnancy prevention, and STD’s. The clients may eventually seek employment and take public transportation to work and any appointments. They do daily chores around the house such as cleaning, cooking, and dishes.
